Woven together from the personal stories of South LA residents and real life episodes on Leighton Avenue, Next Door delves into the neighborhood dynamics of one inner city community. Three teens, two women, and one white man who just can’t dance, share their lives with one another and experience the joys and hardships of relating across generational and cultural lines. With a whimsical combination of laughter, awkward social situations, dance and rap, Next Door navigates the delicate process of people becoming neighbors, and neighbors becoming friends.
